2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Phone number — required to create an account and sign in. We verify it via a one-time password (OTP) sent over WhatsApp.
- Name — collected during checkout or profile setup.
- Email address — optional; if you don't provide one, we generate a placeholder linked to your phone number so your account can be created.
- Delivery address(es) — collected when you place an order or save an address to your account.
- Vehicle details (make, model, year, fuel type, body type, colour)
— if you choose to add a vehicle to your in-app "Garage" for personalised product recommendations. This is optional.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device push notification token — generated by your device to allow us to send order and account notifications. Linked to your account.
- App / site activity — such as product search queries and pages visited, to power search, recommendations, and site improvement.
- Order and purchase history — items purchased, order status, and transaction records.
- Cookies on the website — see Section 5.
2.3 Information we do not collect
- We do not collect your precise or approximate location.
- We do not collect or store your card number, CVV, or UPI PIN. Card and UPI payments are entered directly into our payment partner Razorpay's secure, PCI-DSS certified checkout screen — this data never passes through or is stored on Uniauto's servers or app.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account and verify your identity via OTP.
- Process and fulfil your orders, including delivery and returns.
- Process payments securely through Razorpay.
- Send order updates, delivery notifications, and (if you opt in) promotional notifications or emails.
- Personalise your experience and the products/content shown to you.
- Provide customer support and respond to enquiries, including ratings and reviews you submit.
- Run contests, promotions, or surveys you choose to participate in.
- Improve our website and app.
- Improve search relevance and product recommendations, including through AI-assisted search (see Section 4).
- Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Comply with legal and tax obligations.
4. Third Parties We Share Data With
We share the minimum information necessary with the following service providers to operate the Services. We do not sell or trade your personal information to anyone.

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies and is contractually/technically limited to using it for the stated purpose. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g. merger or acquisition), in which case we will notify you.
5. Cookies (Website)
Our website may use cookies — small files stored in your browser — to:
- Remember items in your shopping cart.
- Remember your preferences across visits.
- Understand site traffic and usage patterns (e.g. via Google Analytics), and, where enabled, measure advertising performance (e.g. via Google Ads).
You can disable cookies from your browser's settings at any time. If you do, some site features (like a persistent cart) may not work correctly, but you will still be able to browse and place orders. We honor "Do Not Track" browser signals where technically supported.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account, order, and vehicle-garage information for as long as your account is active, and thereafter for our business, accounting, fraud-prevention, and legal record-keeping purposes.
We do not delete account, order, or transaction data — including following a deletion request. You can remove individual items you control directly (see Section 7 — profile details, saved addresses, and Garage vehicles), and you can opt out of any notifications or marketing communications at any time, but the underlying account and order history is retained indefinitely.
Push notification tokens are removed when you log out or uninstall the app.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Access / correction — you can view and update your name, email, and saved addresses from your account profile at any time.
- Notification preferences — you can turn order, promotional, wishlist, and account notifications on or off individually in the app.
- Marketing emails — every marketing email we send includes an unsubscribe link; you can also email support@uniauto.in to be removed from all marketing correspondence. We will action opt-out requests promptly. We do not use false or misleading subject lines or sender addresses, and any promotional email is clearly identifiable as such.
- Garage vehicles — you can remove any vehicle from your Garage at any time from within the app; this deletes it immediately from our database.
- Account data — see Section 6. We do not delete underlying account or order data on request.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) transmission between the app/website and our servers, and cryptographic signature verification on all payment confirmations. Card and UPI payment data is handled entirely within Razorpay's PCI-DSS certified checkout and never touches our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify affected users by email within 1 business day of confirming the breach, and post an in-site/in-app notification within 7 business days.
9. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at support@uniauto.in.
10. International Users
Uniauto is based in India and primarily serves customers within India. If you access the Services from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
